Weekly Strategy that Works
“A pinch of gratitude turns something good into something great” ~ D. Hatch
Every morning I wake up and say “thank you” often before my eyes are all the way open. Why? Because if nothing else, at least I have another day of life. What a gift!
Over the past few days, I have been reading research on gratitude. The findings are incredible. Having gratitude positively impacts health, relationships, coping skills and overall enjoyment of life. It increases happiness and promotes well-being. Now…if that isn’t a list to aspire to what is???
We definitely have nothing to lose by developing a practice of gratitude. Simply making a list of all the things we have to be grateful for reminds us of the gifts life bestows upon us at various points in our journey.
My list this morning looks like this. I am grateful for my health and the health of my loved ones, the upcoming birth of my first grandchild, the beauty of my summer flowers, the person who smiled at me while I was walking my dog this morning and of course my dogs who bring me companionship and joy.
What does your list look like? This week I encourage you to begin a practice of gratitude. Find a time in your day to jot down some things you are grateful for. Life looks richer and more robust when we view it through a lens of gratitude.
